The Overview compass is a tool to guide general thinking about CPP fidelity across a range of situations


CPP Fidelity Compass: Variations

Besides the overview compass, there are variations of the compass that can be used to guide specific phases or aspects of treatment. Each is shared below with full color and low ink versions. We will be developing more variations in the future.

The closing compass was designed to support the therapist in thinking about fidelity during the closing phase. 

Fidelity Forms Overview

  • CPP fidelity forms are designed to guide the provider and support reflection
  • Each fidelity packet includes
  • Contact log: To understand the flow of treatment during the specific treatment phase
  • Intervention Fidelity Form: Helps therapists reflect on their fidelity with respect to the 6 strands of CPP fidelity
  • Phase-specific information (e.g. client registration form, closing form) 
  • Phase-specific procedures
  • In addition to the treatment fidelity packets, there are specific forms to monitor the fidelity of those who support therapists in learning CPP 
  • Consultation Fidelity
  • Supervision Fidelity

Foundational Phase

Packet Overview

The Foundational Phase packet contains:

  • Client registration form
  • Contact log
  • Procedures specific to this phase
  • Assessment & Engagement 
  • Feedback procedures: To ensure the therapist covers discussion areas with the caregiver
  • Intervention Fidelity Form

Ideal Packet Completion Schedule

  • Client registration form: First session or as soon as you have the information
  • Contact log: After each session
  • Procedures: Assessment & Engagement: After each session check-off what has been done and think about what remains 
  • Intervention Fidelity Form: Immediately prior to the feedback session to conceptualize the core intervention phase 
  • Procedures: Feedback: After the feedback session 

At a minimum . . 

  • During training, this packet should be completed & reviewed with a supervisor or colleague prior to beginning the core intervention phase 

Core Intervention Phase

Packet Overview

The Core Intervention Phase packet contains:

  • Core intervention phase registration form: To track child's involvement in this phase
  • Contact log
  • Procedures specific to this phase: Introduce Child to CPP
  • Intervention Fidelity Form

Ideal Packet Completion Schedule

  • Core intervention phase registration form: When the phase begins
  • Introduce Child to CPP: Immediately after session where child is introduced to CPP using the CPP triangle
  • Contact log: After each session
  • Intervention Fidelity Form
  • Agencies new to CPP
  • After every 12 sessions (e.g. after session 12, session 24, session 36)
  • If termination session occurs within 4 sessions of a scheduled assessment (e.g. termination before session 16), this form is completed as part of the Termination Phase packet
  • Agencies with established CPP practices (where therapists are being supervised by endorsed CPP trainers 
  • Every 20 sessions (e.g. after session 20, session 40)
  • If termination session occurs within 4 sessions of a scheduled assessment (e.g. termination before session 24), this form is completed as part of the Termination Phase packet

Termination Phase

Packet Overview

Each packet contains:

  • Closing Form
  • Contact log
  • Procedures specific to this phase: Termination
  • Intervention Fidelity Form

Ideal Packet Completion Schedule

  • Contact log: After each session
  • All other forms: At the end of the termination phase although it may be helpful to review the termination procedures as you begin this phase. 

Learning Supports

Consultation Fidelity

Overview

This form is used to provide feedback to CPP consultants. Participants provide feedback on consultant fidelity related to the six strands of CPP fidelity. In addition, participants rate the consultant's capacity to help those in the group grow in terms of core CPP knowledge and competencies.

Completion Schedule

This form should be completed every 6 months (before learning sessions 2 & 3 and at the end of training)

Supervision Fidelity

Overview

This form is used to provide feedback to CPP supervisors. Therapists provide feedback on their supervisor's fidelity related to the six strands of CPP fidelity. In addition, therapists rate the supervisor's capacity to help them grow in terms of core CPP knowledge and competencies.

Completion Schedule

This form should be completed every 6 months (before learning sessions 2 & 3 and at the end of training)
